Who We Are

Motus7 grew out of a decade of hands-on experience in fitness, measurement, and research.

Before Motus7, Aeron founded and operated Fitness Wave NorCal, traveling throughout California for more than a decade providing body composition testing using mobile hydrostatic weighing. What began as a service business gradually evolved into something bigger: a deeper interest in understanding how different technologies measure the human body and how accurately those measurements reflect what is actually happening.

Beginning in 2017, Aeron and his team expanded their work into body composition research, using technologies including the Bod Pod, hydrostatic weighing, DEXA, bioimpedance and other measurement tools. Rather than simply accepting what a device reports, the goal was to understand the data behind the measurement.

That same philosophy became the foundation for Motus7.

When COVID and the resulting restrictions made the mobile hydrostatic business impractical, Fitness Wave NorCal evolved rather than simply ending. The equipment was put into storage while Aeron and his team continued building on the research and experience they had developed over the years.

Today, Motus7 works with companies to collect real-world human data that helps improve health and fitness technologies. Our current focus is wearable technology and motion data, helping engineers understand how products perform across different people, movements and environments.

A major part of our approach is diversity in data. Age, gender, fitness level, body composition, skin tone and other individual differences can affect how technology performs. We believe better products require data that reflects the people who will actually use them.

What started with Fitness Wave was a desire to better understand the human body.

Motus7 is the next evolution of that work.
